What is it?
A project of evangelism and social service developed in the area called Sem Teto (an area where people have no place to live and have invaded the land and put up homes) , in the city of Itaberaba, by the International Ministry of Geração Justa (Righteous Generation) , and the International Teaching Institute of Geração Justa (Righteous Generation).
Objective:
To present Christ to the people who live in this area, through evangelism and by serving them socially, attending to some of the basic necessities of survival, so that the love of Jesus is revealed in their hearts.
History:
In 2008, the International Teaching Institute of Geração Justa (Righteous Generation), organized the students in teams to practice evangelism, and suggested visiting areas of the city where they could minister. At the time, there was not a definite location, and the groups awaited a direction form God. At this area “Sem Teto”, God confirmed in the hearts of the leaders and teams that this would be the place to develop practical training. The students of the school began works of evangelism in the homes of the inhabitants, services in the home, evangelism with the children, and services to teach social character.
At the end of the practical training in 2008, one of the former students of the International Teaching School of Geração Justa (Righteous Generation), and ministry team member, Darlan Firmo de Azevedo, was directed by the Lord to continue the work in this area, and has reaped much fruit. This area “Sem Teto” (area without roofs), has been a field of practical training for the Institute, and continues under the coordination of Ediana Fernandes, with a rented headquarters, where the students congregate with the inhabitants of the area to minister the Word, and which also serves as an office and place to hold Sunday services for the Lord Jesus.
Our Needs:
The work began in a very poor area with no financial means, and is maintained by the Ministry of Geração Justa (Righteous Generation), which needs help to give support to the people who live in the area. Bibles, clothes, shoes, food items, products for hygiene, school material such as paper, colored pencils, glue, scissors, paint, pencils, erasers, and pencil sharpeners, are need for the work developed with the children. Sewing materials, and materials for manicures are needed to realize the work with the women in the area.
